AAF Foundation has set up two IT skill development centers in Bharatpur in 2019. The Centers run training courses in IT skills and soft skills for Class XII as well as graduate and post graduate students.
The IT skills course comprises of MS Office, TALLY and CCC which helps students prepare their CVs, learn accounting and prepare for government entrance exams.
The course duration is for 2 months with 11/2 to 2 hour classes five days a week. Students receive a certificate at the end of the course issued by HOPE and SAP.
The Soft Skills course trains students in english grammar and conversation, placement preparation and interview selection.
Since its inception, nearly 250 students have been placed at various organisations and government institutions.
Deepak Saini was recently selected for a hotel management position at a starting salary of Rs 15,000/- and continues to attend the course to refine his skills
Another student, Sachin Singh, a BSc graduate is working on developing a soft skills app with the support of AAF Foundation.
Since 2018, the Foundation has also been delivering training in IT skills and knowledge to girls and women in remote areas where computer centers or schools are not located.
Three vans with 12 laptops each cover villages within 30 minute distance of each other and are stationed at each village from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.
Girls are encouraged to enhance their IT skills as well as use the technology to explore career options
Priyanka Sharma from Ganwari village has started earning through content writing assignments with the support of her area’s project coordinator.
Sonam and Deepa from Kushal village have given their Rajasthan police and Patwari exams respectively after filling up their forms online. Ritu from the same village has a degree in Computer Science and uses this facility to enhance her skills to run successful computer training classes for girls in the village.
The interest and the development shown by the girls has inspired the boys of the village to request for them to be allowed to use this facility to learn computers as well.
